With the race tomorrow, I just needed to get in a quick little swim this morning. The way the workout was set out (two cycles of a bunch of work), I knew I could get out after the first cycle and have had a good day. The workout went well, I felt pretty good, although some tightness started to build up in my shoulders. I don't think this was from the work, so it might just have been some stress from yesterday hanging around.
Midway through the warm-up, the strap on my goggles broke. This necessitated a quick change to some back-ups (which fogged up every 50m), and after the session I changed straps so that I could use my good ones again. I'll have to do a test run before the race to make sure everything works right.

Kick some ass for me -- this was supposed to be my first 'A' race of the season... so I'll be with you in spirit, if not flesh.
ReplyDeleteIf the doctors will allow it, my new 'A' race is going to be GL2 and while my swim will certainly be slower, I'm thinking I might be able to put in a (less un)respectable run this time around.
More time running has definitely been a fantastic silver lining... though I do find myself very jealous of your swim workouts ;)
I'm all hopped up on 454 Horsepower right now, so we'll see what kind of ass-kicking I can bring. Sorry you can't be out here with us.
ReplyDeleteI still say you need to come out for a Du if you can't swim. Hit the du in Niagara, and after doing two runs, the run at GL2 will be a breeze.
