It's not an official event. It's not because it's one of the biggest holidays of the year. It's just because it's Tuesday, and I have a marathon (and a half) in two weeks.
After a glorious morning of opening gifts (including the official unveiling of Lightning McQueen) and waffles for breakfast, I took advantage of the reduced traffic and moderate temperatures to get in a nice ten mile LSD run. I felt really good the whole way through. Timed roughly, I did (according to Mapmyrun.com) 10.64 miles in 91 minutes. That's an 8:33/mile overall pace, and I was never stressed the whole run. This bodes very well for the upcoming races, and for next season. My legs are getting pretty good, my lungs and heart are getting pretty good.
Run: 4 miles @ 145 bpm, 6 miles @ 150 bpm

Hardcore. You're making me feel like a slacker for taking yesterday off.
I don't feel too bad though, since I worked hard on the 24th. I did one of my Spinervals DVDs and actually managed to trigger my exercise-induced asthma. I've never done that in a training session before... only races.
So the good news is that this particular set of workouts is obviously doing a good job of simulating race conditions!
There's a slight difference for the two of us training on Xmas day: you have your next race in four months, I'm up in two weeks. If I wasn't setting up for my last big weekend, I'd have probably taken the day off.
Congratudolences on the EIA. What Spinervals workout caused that(so I can avoid it)? Which DVDs do you have? I can probably loan you a few of those to help keep boredom at bay.
it was none other than Spinervals 1.0: No Slackers Allowed. It's a series of anaerobic workouts. Intervals, ladders, superspins and a simulated 5k Prologue thrown in for good measure.
The EIA kicked in during the last kilo of the Prologue. I was pretending to be Thor Hushovd and thus probably overdid it.
