It was the end of a real week of speed work, and yesterday was a record breaking day in the pool. So it would be understandable if I was a little shattered coming into today. Instead, I'm a little shattered after the workout, but that's because I hit it hard again. I took a look at my last two attempts at Have Mercy, and set a plan of attempting to hit my highest wattages for the best possible workout.
I ended up with a PR of 221 average wattage for the day (6w improvement), at a heart rate average 1 bpm lower than before. That's a very good day. The only thing that went poorly was the absolute last set sprints, when I couldn't hold the top wattage for more than 3 seconds. The legs were fried. So next time I'll crush that part too.
