Good swim this morning. I'm getting better at this "wide flat foot" thing, at least the coach thinks so. It hasn't translated to much speed, but that will come. I've been trying the snorkel on the kick sets, but I'm getting water in it, which I'm having difficulty dealing with. Not a lot mind you, but having to clear it out every 50 is annoying. Using it isn't making me any faster, too. I'm still slow. Even more so, I'm slow on sculling. I did OK the first set, but lost a ton of ground in the next two sets. I'm not entirely sure that the other people are actually sculling (or what think of as sculling), and not doing a modified breaststroke. Should it be the same general movement (kind of a side-side sweep) in all three positions (hands in front, shoulder/chest level, at the hips)? They seem to use a lot of triceps in the last position, so I'm a bit confused. Help me out people.
