There was a bit of a wind out this afternoon. It makes it tough to control the HR when you can cruise along with a tailwind, then round a corner and have to change your stride to keep the HR down. Still, another successful run, with low beats, and ever-increasing speed.
Run: 5 miles - 2 miles @ 145 bpm, 3 miles @ 150 bpm

Good times. When I went for my ride this afternoon the winds around here were 25km/h, gusting to over 40km/h. I love the wind. It feels great, keeps me cool and it's one hell of a training partner.
And, of course, after fighting your way through the headwind, you get to reap the reward: flying home at 40+ km/h with very little effort.
I agree, most of the time the wind makes for a fun ride. Primary exception on the bike: hill interval day, when it's a headwind.
I don't even mind the wind when I'm running, but as I noted, it messes up the base work. With an even cadence, once you turn into the wind, the work doesn't become excesively hard (HR jumps from 148 to 155, "all-day" to "marathon") but it does go over the cap. Just a nuisance to have to slow down to a shuffle until the next corner.
